Form Practice Story 5
A game warden saw a man carrying a large white bucket of fish away from Diamond Lake. He walked up to the man and asked, "Do you have a license to catch all of those fish?"
The man replied, "No, I don't have a license. Why?"
The warden replied, "Then you are fishing illegally. That is a $500 fine for each fish. How many fish do you have in that bucket?"
"There are four of them, Cuddles, Fluffy, Spot, and Larry. These are my pet trout" the man explained.
"So why are you carrying them in a bucket?" the warden questioned.
The man sighed. "Every day I take them down to the lake for a swim and then when it is time to go home, I whistle and they come back to me."
"No way, you're lying!" The game warden declared.
"I'm totally serious," the man explained. "I've been doing this for three years now."
"I've never heard of anything like that," the game warden replied.
"OK," the man reasoned. "I'll show you."
The man and the game warden walked back to the lake. The man poured the bucket of fish into the lake and they swam away.
"Ok, now call them back." the game warden said.
"Call what back?" the man replied, sounding puzzled.
"Your pet fish." the game warden said sarcastically.
"I don't know what you are talking about." the man replied. "I don't have any fish.
