Form Practice Story 1
A modern retelling of "TWO CASES OF GRIP"
BY M. QUAD
Trevor Polanski walked in the front door and tossed his coat down on a dining room chair. Marie, what are you doing home?" he asked as he turned and saw his sister lying on the couch.
"I've got the ostrich flu." Marie replied weakly and coughed sadly.
"There's no such thing as an ostrich flu." Trevor laughed. "You just have a history test tomorrow."
"No, I'm really sick." Marie protested. "You better stay away or you are going to get it."
"Whatever," Trevor laughed. "I want to watch Netflix. so stop hogging the whole couch."
"OK, but don't coming crying to me when you get sick and miss the football game on Friday night." Marie warned.
"Yeah, sure. I had a flue shot and I don't think you can catch a made up flu." Trevor said as he plopped down on the couch and opened his soda.
Three days later, Marie came bouncing in the front door excitedly. "You are never going to believe it. With thirty seconds left, Mike threw a 30 yard pass to Jose in the end zone and we won the game. It was the best game ever. Mike will probably replace you at quarterback from now on. "
"Ughhhh" Trevor replied, although he could barely be heard from under the pile of blankets.
